Breakfast was awesome. Good quality sausage. Excellent honey. Staff pleasant and chatty
Being persnickety my glass at bar after a few sips realised there was lipstick on glass. Asked bartender to change which he did but wd have excelled if he had have topped up my pint!

What was the highlight of The Mont
Everything in The Mont felt really new and up-to-date. We really enjoyed our stay there.
This was a spectacular location near Trinity College, Oscar Wilde Park just across the street - with good walking paths, and playgrounds for kids. Great restaurants, pubs, all around. Great hotel bar/pub for drinks before & after dinner. The rooms were updated: had coffee, tea service in room, iron & ironing board, pretty much everything you need. It was also the only hotel that had outlets for US electronics (which meant my wife & I could charge all our electronics before our return flight. Our room was very quiet; it had one window that opened, that allowed us to better control the temp & lighting in the room. Bathroom had a tub/shower with rain shower & shower wand, linens were all very new & fluffy. Energy conservation: The electrical service to the rooms is activated by dropping a room key into the slot in the light switch, which allows you to shut off all the electronics as you leave without having to go throughout the place shutting off each light, lamp, etc. It also means, when you drop the card back in, all those lights & lamps come back on, so the room is lit the same as when you were last in it. It can cause some issues: The card activation was not explained to our group upon arrival, so it took a little bit to figure out in the dark. Again, once we figured it out, it was a pretty great amenity, as we could pull the card and go. However, if you want to leave something plugged in and charging, then you have to leave the card plugged in (which means you have one less keycard).
A very minor detail, all in all: talking with our friends who also stayed at the Mont: all the rooms are very unique in layout (not a surprise since it's a totally updated historic building). Our main door opened right into the bedroom, with the sitting area farthest from the door (sort of the opposite of what you typically expect in a hotel room).
